​Cut Foot Sioux Resort offers our guests some of the best fishing in Minnesota for walleye, northern pike, muskie, bass, and panfish. Our location offers the unique benefit of direct access to fishing on Little Cut Foot Sioux Lake, Cut Foot Sioux Lake and Lake Winnibigoshish . We have our own private boat ramp and guaranteed docking for your boat. Our protected harbor keeps your boat and fishing equipment safe even in the windiest weather; and all our docks have electricity for charging your marine batteries. We sell seasonal baits, tackle, gas and oil and have boats and motor rentals available. We have a large fish cleaning house and there is plenty of free freezer space available. We also be happy to arrange guided fishing trips for you with the area's best professional fishing guides.

Little Cut Foot Sioux Lake has a surface area of 660 acres and a maximum depth of 20 feet and is connected to Cut Foot Sioux Lake and Lake Winnibigoshish via a boat channel. According to the Minnesota DNR, Little Cut Foot experiences a large migration of walleye during the spring with variable walleye gill-net catch rates affected by early summer weather patterns. Other fish found in Little Cut Foot Sioux Lake include northern pike, bluegill, black crappie, yellow perch and sunfish.

Lake Winnibigoshish

Lake Winnibigoshish is the fifth largest lake in Minnesota and covers more than 67,000 acres. One of the finest walleye fishing lakes in Minnesota, Big Winnie is a great producer of walleye and northern pike as well as muskie. The best times to fish for walleye are from May thru the first week in July and then again from mid-August until freeze up. Northern fishing is best from July through October. The jumbo perch bite well here all year and are particularly active during ice fishing season. The state record muskie at 57 lbs was caught on Lake Winnie and numerous large muskies prowl the depths of the lake. There are also crappie, bass, perch, sunfish and bluegill found in the lake. Also known as Lake Winnie and sometimes misspelled Lake Winibigosh or winnibigoshish, Big Winnie has a maximum depth of 65 feet and a median depth of 15 feet. The Mississippi River flows through its center. Nearly 95 percent of Lake Winnibigoshish's 35-mile-shorelength is undeveloped.

​Cut Foot Sioux Lake

Cut Foot Sioux is a 2,768-acre lake that is connected to Lake Winnibigoshish at it's southwest side. The many bays of Cut Foot Sioux Lake provide great protection on windy days and great structure for catching many species of fish. While walleye is the primary fish being sought here, the lake is also known for its jumbo perch, northern pike, crappie and muskie populations.

The best times to fish for walleye are from May thru the first week in July and then again from mid-August until freeze up. Northern fishing is best from July through October. The jumbo perch bite well here all year and are particularly active during ice fishing season. Numerous large muskies prowl the depths of the lake. There are also crappie, bass, perch, sunfish and bluegill found here. Cut Foot Sioux lake has a maximum depth of 78 feet and an average water clarity of 9 feet.
